Freestyle: FP-7793 ft. Freestyle Professors & Magnificent Shakeem

It makes always sense to check various stores for pre-order items. My newest find makes me very happy. Well my man Ed told me a few weeks ago that there is something in the pipeline but I didn't expect a massive package like that. So let's start to analyze the bundle:

At first I see the "Devastating EP" by Freestyle Professors with guest appearance of Sadat X, A.G., Blaq Poet, Lord Tariq and B.A.M. The tracks are coming from the forthcoming "Branesparker & Friends" LP.

A: Devastating
A: Subway Series
B: Rebuild Them
B: Come On
B: Proverbs (Sun God Remix)

The second EP is by Magnificent Shakeem, probably an AKA of Branespaker I haven't heard before but definitely something I need to find out. The track list shows a number of six:

A: Invincible
A: I'm The Magnificent Shakeem
A: World's Famous
B: Hardcore Villain (OG Version)
B: What's Going On
B: You Better Be Treacherous

At last the bundle features a 7" split vinyl and features Magnificent Shakeem on side A plus Branesparker & G.W. Foxx on side B.

A: I'm The Magnificent Shakeem (Remix)
B: Get Wise

Due to the fact that the 7" is limited to 200 copies I expect there will be 200 bundle deals for the real heads available. The Magnificent EP will be limited to 300 copies. The shipping date is expected for mid July so check the Freestyle Professors page, UGHH and this blog for any further information.

My special thanks goes out to Ed Catto, Branesparker, Freestyle Records and all featured artists. All copyrights reserved, posted for promotion use only.

Redefinition: RDF-none ft. Joe Buck

What Redefinition presents here and you definitely don't want to miss is a fine collaboration featuring Joe Buck.

Precisely this is bundle of two 5x7" postcard record, which is essentially a piece of PAPER with vinyl grooves pressed into a very thin layer of gloss lamination on one side. The sound quality is not so good as record nerds prefer but it's a nice combination of sound and art.

Joe Buck x Redefinition Records, Damu x K-Def, SP1200 x MPC60 ...

"Each print highlights a classic sampler / drum machines that one of our affiliated musicians uses. These two prints highlight the Akai MPC60 and the EMU SP1200. Damu uses the SP every now and then, and in the past, K-Def used to use an Akai MPC60.

Volume 1 includes BOTH prints as pictured above. Not sold separately. Future Volumes in our "Miner League" series will be produced on entirely different formats, and showcase different equipment, ideas and artists.

The SP1200 postcard features a track from Damu's How it Should Sound LP, not a new or unreleased recording. The MPC60 postcard features the original demoversion of one of K-Def's most popular productions from the early 90s. We don't wanna come off like those QVC knife sellers, but seriously ... if you get this you'll own a piece of history. The K-Def beat on the MPC60 card was literally sourced from one of K's original beat tapes from '92 (which featured a number of beats recorded straight outta his MPC).

Slice Of Spice: SSR-FLEX9 ft. Lord Finesse

How to make an indie record label very famous - Lesson 1: The Slice Of Spice Records discography started with an independent record dedicated to the daughter of the label owner. The clue; the record was not available for sale so it's still a sought after piece of vinyl.

After that the label collaborated with famous producers and MC's like Paul Nice, K-Def, Lord Finesse or Masta Ace. The clue; every record release offered special gift options by supporting a series of releases as well as some elusive test pressings.

Now Slice Of Spice brings the self-promotion to the next level and collaborates with the world famous magazine "WaxPoetics". The # 22 of the Japanese issue will include a white Flexi-Disc ft. an exclusive remix version of "Check The Method" by Lord Finesse.

Take it easy! Every copy of the magazine will have the disc included so place your order if it's available, have a good read and listen to the remix the same moment :)

My respec' and special thanks goes out to Richard at Slice Of Spice. All copyrights reserved, posted for promotion use only.

Fat Beats: FB5148 ft. Large Professor

It would be assuming to tell you about the Large Professor so I don't loose myself into details. But the latest news from "Xtra P" leads me to open another thread about his upcoming release.

The album has also guest appearances of MOP’s Lil Fame, Roc Marciano, Tragedy, Cormega and many more. In a classy move, Large Pro gives Marco Polo the album’s only production guest spot on the title track.

Blunted Astronaut: BAR-10-COG-0001 ft. DJ Doom

Brooklyn's DJ Doom has been into the culture since the early 80's from being a Graff writer, a B-Boy, a DJ and a Hip Hop producer. His latest album "Temple of Doom" featured many MC's, like Craig G, Large Professor, Prince Po, Krumbsnatcha, Blaq Poet, and Grand Daddy I.U. just to name a few.

It was last year when DJ Doom invited Reks and Blacastan to create what was originally planned a 7" single. After a few months of brainstorming Blunted Astronaut and DJ Doom decided to extend it to a 10" EP format.

"City Of God featuring Reks is a powerful narrative about the violent state of affairs in many of America's cities. Inspired by the movie 'Cidade De Dios' by Fernando Meirelles, Reks gives the listener an in-depth descriptive about everyday events one has to experience in order to survive in a tough, concrete jungle. Doom's precisely chopped piano stabs complement his lyrics, adding further gloominess to the track. There are two versions of 'City Of God' on this record, the original on Side A, and the "Park Bench Mix" featured on Side B.

On 'Transmitting Live', Blacastan schools all wanna-be rappers on what it takes to be a true, hard to the bone MC. The charismatic poet, Blac brings us right to the centre of action in a crime-filled neighborhood, where gang violence is omnipresent. His powerful rhyme voice, and gripping storytelling blends perfectly with Doom's grimey, head-nodding instrumental. The last track on the EP is a bonus beat called "SP Madness". Like in all of the instrumentals on the 10", here Doom also utilized only 10 seconds of sampling. [source]

First of all "The Good People" (Emskee and Saint) from the NYC dropping two new quality tracks for a new Blunted Astronaut 7".

"Think Twice is a mid to slow tempo banger which tells of the pitfalls of not trying to make calculated, wise decisions in one's everyday travels ... "The Theory is a smooth, jazzy-oriented joint which explains how alot of mc's and producers in the game don't really take the art form of making hip hop music seriously ... Both tracks are from the forthcoming release of The Good People's 4th album "Gone For Good" [source]
