Dinked Records launches another jukebox 45 and is presenting it in a beautiful designed picture sleeve. "Hands High" features Brighton's DJ and producer Krafty Kuts and J5 MC Charli 2na.

I have heard the track in some of Krafty Kuts radio/podcast mixes, and its dope. Charli 2na's unique voice is anyhow one of the dopest in hip-hop.

Rugged: RRLP04 ft. DJ Low Cut

Low Cut dropped NY Minute four years ago, with his MPC he’s back to ring the bells and unsheathe the samples for "Dead End".

The starting point of Dead End’s production remains the 90’s boom-bap and far from his Parisian basement, Low Cut has rung phones in New York, Baltimore and Detroit, rounding up the faithful. He magnetized the hidden but sharp forces, and gained attendance of legends.

Heavy atmosphere, martial beats and street soul, Dead End is also the final episode of the projects initiated by Low Cut, based on the model of a producer inviting various MCs.

In future Low Cut is planning to replace his turntable needles, refresh his sample banks, and settle the BPMs of his productions on more abstract frequencies ... (really?).

2NX: 2NX007 ft. Soundsci

Most sample diggers will recognise a Boosey & Hawkes Recorded Music Library sleeve on their tours immediately ... however, the Cavendish Music archive, of which they are part, remains one of the least chartered non-commercial music catalogues among producers.

"Non-commercial" is no longer the case, thanks to veteran beatsmiths Jonny Cuba (Dynamic Syncopation) and Ollie Teeba (The Herbaliser), and their army of emcees. "My Boosey Weighs A Ton" is an album sampled wholly from the Cavendish archive. This makes a perfect follow up to 2011’s Soundsational LP on Ubiquity, for which Soundsci gained the blessing of Mike James Kirkland to sample his rich back catalogue.

Cavendish and Soundsci are two forces leading the way in building relationships between the sampler and the sampled. In 2014 Cavendish Music welcomed a select group of five producers into their vinyl archive. Soundsci’s Jonny Cuba was one of the lucky few, and Soundsci were one of 25 artists who sampled and remixed the material for WhoSampled’s first ‘Samplethon’.

A: My Boosey Weighs A Ton
A: Hunger Pains
A: Ole Saying Goes
A: Tug Of War
A: Drugs, Guns & Economics
A: Thaddeus Brown

B: Written In Stone
B: Intelligence
B: Relationship
B: Chimichunga
B: Dust & Decay

Bonus: DG&E Remix (digital only)

My special thanks goes to 2NX, Ollie Teeba, Jonny Cuba and the whole Soundsci. All copyrights reserved, posted for promotion use only.

Various: Interview With Doc TMK

I promised two new interviews on the blogspot and I hope you enjoyed the one with Specifik from B-Line Recordings. Today I like to welcome producer Doc TMK on Stitch By Stitch blogspot.

SBS: Fab, welcome on Stitch By Stitch. We have seen lots of new releases from you and DJ Suspect recently so I am very pleased to have you here for a short interview. Please introduce yourself and tell us about your connection to DJ Suspect.

Doc TMK: So in 2008, I saw DJ Suspect mix for the first time at a party organized as part of a birthday of the Zulu Nation, he mixed with DJ Revolution and Bambaataa. In the queue, before entering the box, I met Ludo, the friend of DJ Moar, who distributed flyers, followed a discussion with Ludo, who told me about the label Trad Vibe, DJ Moar and Leo (Suspect) who was signed on the label. A little later I went to parties organized by Moar and then I sympathized with Suspect. The idea of collaborating together did not come to us before 2012.

SBS: On Facebook I saw your statement "Doc TMK is a 45 maniac" and indeed almost all of your latest releases came on 7" vinyl. Is 7" your preferred format?

Doc TMK: Let's say this is the most economical format to release two titles today, if you want to do that well, in the Hip Hop Game. Maniac, because Suspect and I have put a lot on it and in a few years we have released a number of them. As a "digger", I have a collection of beatmakers, a lot of LPs of all styles of music that I use for sampling. For deejays, the 7 inch is very effective, if you want to do without a Serato. The crew 45 Live of which Suspect demonstrates well, you play your bangers, oldies or novelties, with a little technique you can return a set. Suspect, Format, and others do that well. My collection is more focused on LP as I sample and a LP bought at random will offer you always more opportunities to find a loop than a 45. But the 7 inch has become the perfect format for self-production, release records and be played in the underground Rap culture.

SBS: We see Doc TMK collaborating with many different labels like Dinked/Random Rap, Dusty Platter, Radio Krimi or Luhna. How did it came to those collaborations?

Doc TMK: Luhna is my label. The other connections were made in the course of time, Leo (Suspect) contributed a lot, it is a chance to have released several discs even if things have not always been ideal. Radio Krimi ... Let's say that I got a little bit of a stirrup at Seb (DJ Krimi) so that it is organized in label, with a first very boom bap 90s. Since DJ Krimi is perfecting himself as a producer and he is doing really well.

SBS: From an MC point of view you collaborated a lot with Emskee from The Good People but also with Finsta or Andy Cooper. Were those features initiated by yourself or the labels you work with and with whom would you like to collaborate in the future?

Doc TMK: Connections can come from everywhere, emcees can come from different schools, just like the singers for that matter, from different towns. Only importance, know how to ask. No illegitimate children.

SBS: What can we expect from you next, any exclusive hints for us on Stitch By Stitch?
Doc TMK: My album "Jus Do !T" that we push deeply with DJ Krimi is for 2017. We have invested a lot in it.

SBS: Fab, thank you very much. I am sure everyone here has supported at least one of your release projects and if not I can only recommend to follow this link and grab as many of your releases as possible even if some are pressed in limited quantities. Take care and let's keep in touch. Also thanks to Seb from Radio Krimi for supporting this interview!

Doc TMK: Thx Mytee, Peace my man! One Love ... and don't forget "Jus Do !t" LP (2017 - Radio Krimi Records)

Chopped Herring: CHTABB001 ft. Big Tabb

This project started with Tabb licensing the "Brothers in Da Hood" grail, but Chopped Herring was looking for more tracks to drop a solid album or EP release and with the help of many diggers they got hands on the early Big Tabb aka Jakk Frost demos.

Very much reminiscent of a "classic '94" album with production from Philly producer MG aka Mentally Gifted. If you cannot remember when you came across Big Tabb, he released a 12" single with two tracks plus remix in 1996.

A1: Laid Back
A2: Groove Wit It
A3: Like Sistas & Brothas
A4: Crazy 4 A Quarter
A5: Brothers In The Hood
B1: Big Man For Hire
B2: Nuff Respect
B3: Who's Wreckin Da Mic
B4: Commercialized Music
B5: High School Daze

All tracks produced by MG

The LP is limited to 350 copies - the first 120 copies come on silver, white & orange mixed coloured vinyl - the remaining 230 are on traditional black wax.

My special thanks goes to Chopped Herring and Big Tabb. All copyrights reserved, posted for promotion use only.

Chopped Herring: CHB3NEF01 ft. Beneficence

Originally recorded in 1991, released in 1994, the "Suckas Brevity/Hostile Lifestyle" 12" by New Jersey MC & producer Beneficence is what you'll link to this new Chopped Herring release.

Only 100 copies were ever pressed on indie label Big House Records, so Chopped Herring & Beneficence's label Ill Adrenaline thought it is time to repress the 12" and add some previously unreleased Beneficence boom-bap from the 90's and name it the "Contents Under Pressure EP".

A2: Suckas Brevity
A3: Hostile Lifestyle
A4: Hostile Lifestyle (Instrumental)
