Redefinition: RDF-093 ft. Klaus Layer

"Society Collapse" is Klaus Layer's fourth album since 2013. It took two years to create this instrumental concept album full of arrangements and hidden layers that will reward the listener over repeated plays. In just three years since his vinyl debut, Klaus has earned himself a reputation as Germany's most prolific and unique hip-hop conductor yet and this record will only further solidify that.

"In a society where unsettling truths about responsibility are given little thought, and short-sighted impulses have become commonplace, it’s easy to become disillusioned, but it gets a little harder when what we’re looking at are the bricks with which to build the future. There is never a time without consequence; history provides a resource of successes, failures and reflection. Eras of change ebb and flow and ours is once again uniquely positioned to cultivate an understanding of this interaction between the past and present to act upon what comes next." [Klaus Layer]

The album is available with bonus 45rpm on black or coloured vinyl (black & mint, with orange & yellow splatter). Limited to 21 copies Redef offered Lathe picture discs bundle with a 5" ft. Esoteric and 7" with Sleepy Hollow People b/w Supermarket.

Chopped Herring: ft. Jay Glaze

"Operation Clam Dust" is the unheard masterpiece of jAy gLaZe that was created between late 2005 and early 2008. This is so to say the follow-up of the 2004 "Three Sinister Syllables" mix.

This is a next level exploration into digging, sampling and audio animation. All manner of world breaks, private press LP's, obscure soundtracks, Bolivian polka jawns are up in that piece.

"Eight years after it was made, there has been nothing that even comes close to the complexity of this project", Chopped Herring explained.

There are 350 copies pressed, the first 125 copies come on red, yellow & clear coloured vinyl, the remaining 225 copies are on traditional black wax.

My special thanks goes to Jay Glaze and Chopped Herring Records. All copyrights reserved, posted for promotion use only.

Chopped Herring: CHD4DDYO01 ft. Junior Mafia / Freestyle Fellowship

In 1993/1994 there were those Junior Mafia Demos that never made it on the album - with the Biggie verses - and you can tell, from the melody of his rhymes, that those verses were most likely written for these beats - never heard, never leaked.

Straight from the vaults of the legendary and often unsung original creator Daddy-O.

And on the flip - an unreleased Freestyle Fellowship joint from around the same time produced by Stetsasonic's Daddy-O.

The EP is limited to 500 copies - the first 75 copies come on black/clear vinyl - the next 125 copies on silver perl and the remaining 300 are on traditional black wax.
