Holy Grails: SB-456 ft. Showbiz & A.G.

This is a time journey back to 1991 ... We're in the streets of NYC, the Bronx, some guys chillin' around the corner, talkin' to a guy selling records out of his car. The record looks quite independent in that generic cover, a red label with white letters saying SHOWBIZ & A.G.

Well there are some rumors around that the story happened nearly like that and probably I poetized something additionally but I always wanted to be in the streets to get my personal copy from Showbiz. Too late ...

In the meantime several represses become available but the original is still easy to identify. At first you'll find the signature CBS ♪♪ in the run-out groove but if you wanna buy the record from an online store make sure the artists name is spelled correctly: SHOWBIZ & A.G. with a special view on the "." behind the G.

As far as I know the original press was limited to 500 copies so it's crazy rare 20 years later, believe it? But without a doubt the promotion was a total success because their discography has multiple "all time classic" available nowadays.

A1: Soul Clap (Vocal) ft. Diamond D
A2: Soul Clap (Instrumental)
A3: A Giant In The Mental (Vocal)
A4: A Giant In The Mental (Instrumental)
B1: Party Groove
B2: Diggin' In The Crates ft. Diamond D, Lord Finesse
B3: It's Up To You ft. Lord Finesse

Producer: Showbiz, Diamond D
Engineer: Jazzy Jay, Skeff Anselm

Also a nice find is the picture cover version on London records which has a different track list and bombastic cover design.

My special thanks goes out to Showbiz and the whole D.I.T.C. crew. All copyrights reserved, posted for promotion only means a homage to one of the dopiest records of my collection.
