Diggers With Gratitude: DWG-011 / DWG-012 ft. Emskee

New and upcoming release on Diggers With Gratitude. DWG-011 and DWG-012 will feature Emskee, an artist that is still independent but real dope. Beside a couple of nice radio features Emskee released a full-length album in 2009, sadly a CD-only. For the vinyl nerds out there an additional 12inch release was available too, both on Groon Trax Records. People may wonder but CD and 12 were released in Japan!

DWG-011 will feature a number of dope unreleased but regualr tracks while DWG-012 will feature some dope radio promos. An additional information ... some tracks were produced by Nick Wiz, some by The Saint ... now you know, you need to digg this!

DWG will announce Emskee - The Complex Engineer EP real soon so better be prepered. Check the snippet to get an idea of what you'll need to buy:

Slice Of Spice: SSR-006 ft. Grap Luva & Damu

This is simply unbelievable. With a speed I have rarely seen Slice Of Spice Records has the next release in the pipeline. Next is a 12inch release of Grap Luva ft. Damu The Fudgemunk called the "NEVA DONE EP".

REDEF already indicated that Grap Luva was working on an EP, and everything is now ready to go on this mix of old and new music. Side A will have two recent tracks that never received a vinyl release with instrumentals included. The flip sees Grap dust down his SP-1200 and select a grip of his beatstrumentals!

Damu The Fudgemunk is featured all over this quality release as he can be found on the cuts and boards laying down that signature sound.

Pre-Orders are live at www.nevadone.bigcartel.com.. The EP is available in different versions. First of all we have the "standard" 140 gr. black vinyl edition with a nice grey SP-1200 sticker on cover (400 copies available). Also available is a 180 gr. blue coloured wax edition (100 copies only) with a light blue sticker on cover.Very limited are the DJ Double Pack version (25 copies, black vinyl) and the Test Press bundle; both sold out really fast. For those who prefer a CD, Slice Of Spice goes digital!

Slice Of Spice: SSR-005(.5) ft. K-Def & LL Cool J

SSR-005: K-Def ft. LL Cool J - YEAR OF THE HIP HOP 10" (Preview)

Back in 1994 K-Def was working on some beats out of the B Room in Marly Marl’s House Of Hits when LL Cool J walked in on his session and said “let’s make some tracks together”. Uncle L had always wanted to rhyme on a track using the famous ESG breakbeat ‘UFO’, so he had Def lay it down with some scratches and then went to town with the mic. Both thought they had a sure fire hit on their hands but unfortunately it was never used. The DAT tape of the studio session was feared lost for several years before it eventually turned up stuck behind a radiator! Now, 17 years later, K-Def and Slice-of-Spice are proud to present ‘Year Of The Hip Hop’ in all its vinyl glory.

Slice-of-Spice has teamed up with K-Def and Ghetto Man Music to finally release the almost mythical LL Cool J joint 'Year Of The Hip Hop' on vinyl. After several failed attempts to get this unreleased gemm on vinyl, over different formats and with different track listings, Slice Of Spice makes things happen.

Get ready for blast off as they drop an incredible limited edition 10" of this fully restored, and beast of a track. It's been remastered by K-Def off the original DAT tape, and is ready for vinyl, with a vocal A-side and TV track Instrumental on the flip side.

Once again Joe Buck will be blessing y'all with another of his incredible works of art for the cover. As always there will be no expense spared on making the total package a true thing of beauty, so stay tuned for further details around the 10th / 11th of September. Limited to 500 copies, only 150 on orange coloured wax.

And here's something for the real collectors out there!
While checking out a new pressing plant and a different plating process (DMM) for our Signature Sevens series, SOS had a small batch of test pressings made-up of 'Year Of The Hip Hop'. Twenty copies were pressed in total. Never to be released in this format, All copies are hand stamped and numbered. 10 copies have been distributed to those involved in the project, and the other 10 are up for grabs.

My special thanks goes to Richard at Slice Of Spice. All copyrights reserved, posted for promotion only.
