Dope Folks: DF-0100 ft. Saafir

With support from Ras Kass, Dope Folks Records presents Demo tracks from Saafir's Boxcar Sessions for their 100th release - happy anniversery!.

Saafir, is an emcee, producer and actor from Oakland California and a member of the rap group "Golden State Project" (f/k/n Golden State Warriors) together with Ras Kass and Xzibit. Starting in the hip hop scene as a dancer for Digital Underground, his recording debut was on Digital Underground's "The Body-Hat Syndrome" in 1993, followed by a guest appearance on Casual's "Fear Itself" in early 1994 - the same year his own debut album "Boxcar Sessions" dropped on Qwest/Reprise Records.

Saafir recruited the Hobo Junction production team (J Groove, J.Z., Rational, Big Nose, Poke Martian) for his debut, Boxcar Sessions who are also responsible for the demo tracks finally released by Dope Folks Records. This LP features unreleased tracks from the Boxcar Sessions, and a few more rare cuts from Saafir's archives.

The album is limited to 350 copies, 100 copies come on colored vinyl.
